Responsible to the  Director of Upward Bound, for coordinating and implementing all educational and career awareness activities including facilitating postsecondary registration; the tutoring component; coordinating the advertising and/or recruiting strategies of part-time counseling staff; interviewing, training and evaluating part-time counseling staff; conducting individualized academic planning sessions with project participants and parents/guardians; determining academic strengths and weaknesses of each student; discussing and evaluating student GPA's, tutoring needs and Test of Achievement (TAP) scores with participants; and performing other related duties as assigned. Initiate and organize home visitations as needed; Assist with administering all student assessment instruments; Maintain student and parent contacts; Assists with the follow-up on inactive Upward Bound students; Performs crisis intervention and referral; Assist with publishing an Upward Bound newsletter.  Will assist with the implementation of the tutorial program in target schools. Serve as a consultant with other staff and instructors to facilitate technology-rich teaching and learning by providing evaluation and technical support related to the College’s online learning management system for online, hybrid, and web-augmented courses. This includes support for academic courses, self-paced learning modules, audio/video components, and other training resources for faculty, staff, and students


A bachelor’s degree in counseling or related area:  Masters preferred.  Minimum of two years work experience in high school, college or public service agency counseling and at least one (1) year of relevant work experience as an Instructional Technologist, Instructional Developer or Instructional Designer.
