Requirements

The Program Coordinator will enable smooth functioning of the Workers' Rights Institute, and to assist the institute's staff and leadership with project, design and administrative needs. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks and functional areas, including:

1) office management: travel booking and logistics for staff and external partners, financial tracking, invoice processing, budget reconciliation.

2) event organization: event coordination and management.

3) research: general research, writing, graphic design and copy editing.

4) communications: social media, website, op-eds.

Work Interactions
The Program Coordinator will serve as a primary administrative coordinator for the Workers' Rights Institute, as well as support the operations of the Workers' Rights Institute as a whole. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Director with secondary supervision by the Executive Director (?). They may also receive project oversight from Institute Fellows.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:
  • A Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of office management experience required, preferably in a non-profit environment setting.
  • Experience with supporting smooth office functions: setting personal priorities, managing calendars and handling scheduling requests, ordering supplies,
  • Experience with project administration, events management and logistics
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in institutional communications, and some copy editing and graphic design experience.
  • Ability to work with changing priorities in a fast-paced, results driven environment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with MS Office Suite, basic troubleshooting skills with xerox photocopiers, and working knowledge of both Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems. An Adobe design suite or canva design experience is an asset.
  • Preference for candidates with international and/or multi-cultural experience/exposure and proficiency in two or more languages.
