Job Description:
Teach required course load each semester (may include 4-5 courses per semester) as assigned by chair/director or dean.
Advise an average of 25-30 students as assigned by chair/director. Engage and interact with students in positive ways, such as by guiding student research projects, by serving as the advisor to student clubs and organizations, or by mentoring students in other scholarly activities.
Engage in scholarly activities appropriate to one's discipline, teaching responsibilities, and other academic responsibilities.
Collaborate with Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to find/supervise Level I Fieldwork experiences; conduct clinical education site visits as assigned by chair/director.
Participate in professional development activities related to one's faculty role, including maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice in area of clinical expertise and specialized clinical credentials
Attend required convocations, meetings, commencement, academic awards ceremonies, and workshops and be available to participate in activities that promote the College in a positive manner both on and off campus. Attend scheduled general faculty, school faculty, and departmental faculty meetings; attend Town Hall meetings and Faculty Assembly meetings.
Collaboration with the Program Director on assigned duties involved in maintaining college accreditation (NEASC) and specialized program accreditation (ACOTE).
Hold a minimum of four office hours weekly, scheduled to meet needs of students, and be available to meet with students as needed at other times.
Assist with Student Success and Admissions functions as they relate to departmental programs.
Engage in service to the department, School, and College through committee membership.
Participate, in accordance with Departmental and College need, in the ongoing design and continuous implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and academic program improvement activities in the areas of General Education and the academic major; attend AIC assessment workshops.
Other duties as assigned by chair/director or dean.
Requirements:
Required Degree(s): Doctorate in OT (OTD or PhD) or related field
Required Field of Expertise: At least 3-5 years of teaching experience at a college or university in an OT program; a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in physical disabilities
Preferred Field of Expertise: Experience in adult physical disabilities across the lifespan including musculoskeletal and neurological impairments preferred
Required Training/Cert: At least 5 years of clinical practice experience as an OT in area of teaching responsibilities
Required Licensure(s): Licensed or eligible to be licensed as an OT in the State of Massachusetts
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong commitment to high quality instruction in a diverse, student-centered environment and the ability to work with students with various learning styles and backgrounds
Interest in active and collaborative learning and enthusiasm for working in an interprofessional setting
Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students, faculty, and staff
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard, and the use of instructional technology to teach traditional, hybrid or online courses as needed and serve as a resource for faculty using these tools.
Enthusiastic, committed teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship
Must be able to work with a diverse environment

Work Schedule
This is a full time, exempt level, benefit eligible position that will begin at the start of the Fall 2022 semester. Hours of work are determined based on the needs of the department and are flexible to the needs of the department. Occasional weekend event work required.
