Job Summary:

The Director of Healthcare Finance and Chief Revenue Cycle Management Officer oversees multiple activities that manage and improve hospital and clinic revenue cycle operations that favorably impact accounts receivable, cash acceleration and net revenue, including all administrative and clinical functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue. This includes the entire life of a patient account from creation to payment. The Management of these areas includes Patient Accounting, Billing, Collections, Registration, Charge master and Coding. This position is accountable for the success of the front-end revenue cycle processes and controls relating to scheduling, registration, charge capture, upfront collections, bill holds, root cause analysis/correction of front-end billing errors/claim rejections/denials and overseeing revenue cycle projects and their associated ROI.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor’s in Business or Healthcare related field. Master’s preferred.

- Ten (10) years progressive management of healthcare financial processes or operations

- Oklahoma Driver License

- Strong communication, analysis, and negotiation skills

- Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Skills, Proficiencies, Knowledge:

Successful candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare finance issues, current regulatory, market and customer trends that are driving revenue cycle innovation to include, but not limited to Upstream Revenue Cycle functions (scheduling; insurance authorization; pre-registration; financial counseling) Midstream Revenue Cycle functions (Case management; health information management; clinical coding; clinical documentation improvement; charge capture and revenue integrity; charge description master) and Downstream Revenue Cycle functions (billing and claim submission; self-pay and third-party follow-up; denials and underpayments management; outsourcing vendor management; bundled claims management)

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires rapid cycle turnaround, innovative thinking, and high-quality deliverables. Work closely and collaboratively with clinic administrators, clinical department chairs, and OSU Medicine Administration to develop and continuously enhance financial KPIs and financial performance. Other duties as assigned by CEO of OSU Medicine.
