Job Summary
The College of the Arts at Columbus State University has an opening for an Academic Support Assistant. Located in the Yancey Center in One Arsenal Place on the RiverPark Campus, this position provides administrative support to the Department of Art.

Responsibilities
The position duties/responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Supports recruitment, marketing, applicant portfolio review, and scholarship process for the Department of Art: maintains application pages, communicates with prospective students, attends recruitment events, facilitates student/parent tours of the facilities, sends letters of offer and tracks acceptances
  • Oversees, manages, and updates the scholarship budget with Advancement and Financial Aid
  • Supports the advising and registration process; submits SDE adjustments & Priority Registration; assists with registration overrides as needed
  • Supervises front desk and student assistant staff in the Department of Art
  • Acts as a liaison between the administration, patron advisory board, students, staff, and faculty
  • Prepare, submit guest artist and vendor contracts for approval and signatures
  • Assists with the selection, hiring, and training of student assistant staff
  • Maintains an ongoing inventory of supplies for the Department of Art
  • Maintains files and records for the Department of Art
  • Supports workshops and donor events with digital advertising and orders for printing, mailing, logistics, catering, ticket sales
  • Supports the processing of new hires, payroll, and Supplemental Pay (to include employees, student assistants, and independent contractors); monitors part-time faculty payroll and budgets
  • Processes/receives mail, service requests, and supply orders
  • Maintains equipment inventory records
  • Responds to daily inquiries and communication with various CSU departments, students, vendors, and the community
  • Schedules meetings involving the Chair and faculty/staff
  • Takes minutes at department and advisory board meetings
  • Assembles and enters data for annual HEADS professional accreditation report
  • Provides word processing/formatting support for the NASAD accreditation self-study process
  • Tabulates/enters reports used in annual assessment process

Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
  • An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 1 - 3 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, training and education
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with MS Office products with strong skills in MS Excel
  • Proficient iwith Google Suite and web navigation
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Ability to use independent judgment and initiative
  • Ability to use discretion with confidential information
  • Supervisory skills

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarization with BOR and CSU policies and procedures is preferred

Proposed Salary
The annualized salary for this position is $31,352 and includes full benefits.
