Nature of Work

This Postdoctoral position reports directly to PI Heasley who is responsible for providing a mechanism for the hired individual to develop into a successful independent researcher in the fields of Cancer Biology, Pharmacology or Experimental Therapeutics. The research focus of the laboratory is to discover knowledge related to mechanisms of therapeutic response of oncogene-driven lung cancers and head and neck cancers to targeted agents such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The studies will involve RNAseq, multispectral imaging (Vectra 3.0/Polaris), flow cytometry/CyTOF, in vivo studies with novel murine lung cancer cell lines propagated in syngeneic mice and investigations of basic mechanisms of pathways mediating the reprogramming responses to oncogene-targeted agents. The proposed training will be conducted at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Approximately 5% of the position:

    Perform all research compliance activities required by the University of Colorado Denver-Anschutz Medical CampusPerform general administrative duties as requested within lab
Condition of Employment:

    Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offender background checkMust be able to provide proof of education within 60 days of hire date
Salary and Benefits:

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

    PhD degree in life sciences such as Cancer Biology, Immunology, cell biology, molecular biology or related field (PhD must be conferred prior to starting position, but need not be completed at time of application)Prior experience with experimental animal models
Required Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The ability to communicate well in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skillsExperience working with animal models
Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with mouse models and handling.Experience with protein and cell signaling analysesPrior experience with analyses of “omics” data.
