Job Description:

This position is for a laboratory technician to assist and conduct basic biomedical research.

Duties will include:

  • Care of laboratory animals (including euthanization and observation of adverse reactions)
  • Meeting needs from Animal Care Services and their vets
  • Small rodent surgeries
  • Experimental compound preparation and dosing
  • Behavioral assays
  • Executing protocols
  • Daily maintenance of laboratory
  • Expected Salary:

    $14-$15 per hour commensurate within this range depending on experience.

    Minimum Requirements:

    A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biomedical sciences, psychology, biology, animal sciences, biomedical engineering, microbiology, neurobiological sciences, pharmacy, zoology, health science, or related field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Preference will be given to those with:

  • Previous experience working with laboratory animals
  • Familiarity with experimental compound preparation and dosing
  • Behavioral assays and survival surgery
  • Previous work with statistical analyses and graphing software is highly desirable
