Summary

The Data Assessment and ManagementSpecialist is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committedprofessionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health andwellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary,comprehensive approach. The Data Assessment and Management Specialist reportsto the Director of Public Health Initiatives and Assessment. The individual inthis position is responsible for conducting data collection, providing datamaintenance, and is the subject matter expert for data design, evaluation,assessment, and research initiatives. The Data Assessment and ManagementSpecialist works to advance how data is applied to solve problems in allaspects of Campus Health business, evaluation, assessment, and research.

The Data Assessment and ManagementSpecialist provides assessment and evaluation expertise to all areas of CampusHealth. This individual will work with Campus Health team to developqualitative and quantitative data collection instruments, conduct datacollection and data analysis. The Data Health Analyst will use datavisualization and reporting tools to develop reports and presentations based onthe findings. They will exercise their knowledge of descriptive andmultivariate statistical techniques and applications, and database analysistools to develop strategic insights to drive the work of Campus Health. TheData Assessment and Management Specialist serves as one of the Co-Chairs of theContinuous Quality Improvement Committee along with the Director of PublicHealth Initiatives and Assessment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health,administration, epidemiology, statistics, information management, finance,quantitative methodology, or related degree AND
  • 3 years in public health or relatedinitiatives of which 2 years is focused on data extraction, assessment andreporting.

OR

  • High School diploma/equivalent AND
  • 9 years’ data analysis experience inpublic health or related initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in public health, administration,finance, epidemiology, statistics, or related graduate degree
  • Knowledge of current and emergingcollege health issues, environmental management/prevention strategies, healthbehavior change theories/ecological framework, and evidence-based practice.
  • Experience in higher education setting
  • Experience working with medium-largedatasets (10k observations/rows of data or greater).
  • Experience working with electronicmedical records (EMR)
  • Knowledge of ICD and CPT relatedmedical terminology
  • Experience in leading focusgroup-related activities
