The Dalla Lana School of Public Health is a Faculty of the University of Toronto that originated as one of the Schools of Hygiene begun by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1927. The School went through a dramaticrenaissance after the 2003 SARS crisis and it is now the largest public health school in Canada, with more than 850 faculty, 1,000 students, and research and training partnerships with institutions throughout Toronto and the world. With $40.4 million in research funding per year, the School supports discovery in global health, tobacco impacts on health, occupational disease and disability, air pollution, inner city and Indigenous health, among many other areas.

The Institute of Health, Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) has the largest and most productive group of scholars working in health policy, health services, health informatics, clinical epidemiology and health care research in Canada today. As Project Coordinator, you will be part of a dynamic project to help coordinate the revamp of the IHPME website. Your strong project coordination skills will enable you to conduct risks and needs assessments, execute tasks according to project plans to determine end user technical requirements. Once feedback is collected from users about usability and design you will then liaise with vendors who will execute the development. Your background and experience supporting technical projects will contribute to the timely rollout and success of the new website.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with internal and external service providers and to facilitate the purchasing and procurement processes
  • Liaising with internal web designers and developers to resolve technical or design issues
  • Tracking information on project progress and informing senior staff of deadlines, concerns or setbacks
  • Providing project status updatesat project planning committee meetings while also scheduling status meetings and preparing meeting agendas
  • Testing website before launching new additions and demonstrating the use of a content management system
  • Disseminating and collecting surveys, questionnaires and feedback as well researching, analyzing and recommending solutions to project challenges
  • Performing financial responsibilities including collaborating on cost estimates, processing expense reimbursements and making minor purchases

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in a related field or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years of recent and related experience, preferably within a University or comparable environment
  • Experience coordinating projects and managing priorities, including a strong understanding of the application of project management methodology
  • Experience building andmaintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, as well as coordinating meetings and preparing agendas
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data, interpreting findings and making recommendations for improvement based on insights and best practices
  • Understanding of software and web system architecture
  • Experience contributing to survey questions and disseminating and collecting surveys
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to foster positive collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrated experience researching solutions to project challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and survey tools
  • MS SharePoint and Power Automate development experience
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities and projects with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and high quality
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal andwritten, organizational skills, strong proof-reading and editing skills
  • Ability to assess processes and procedures, utilize critical thinking and synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem-solving skills and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently but also as part of a team


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Familiarity with UofT information systems
  • Experience in post-secondary or graduate institution
