Executive Director Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 23440873 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $125,500 - $218,800 Position Information The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Bourns College of Engineering-Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) and assisting the Faculty Director with the strategic positioning for long term growth and success of the Center. The ED supervises the Financial Manager (FSO), Communications/Marketing Manager, and provides leadership and oversight to all of CE-CERT’s administration and researchers. Serves as the principal advisor regarding financial, contractual, budgetary and administrative/operational matters. Analyzes situations and coordinates solutions through campus-related contacts such as BCOE, RED, accounting, capital programs, government relations, and campus council. Monitors and assists in government and industry relationships in setting up cooperative agreements and obtaining funding. Plays a major role in developing and executing marketing strategies and comprehensive strategic plans by building academic, government, and industry relationships to increase funding, partnerships, and visibility. Develops and implements internal processes and campus-wide initiatives to assist with the success of researchers within UCR. The budgeted hiring range is between $123,900 - $153,950. Minimum Requirements Excellent management skills associated with the oversight of planning, development, and construction of research engineering projects across multiple units.
Thorough effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to diverse groups.
Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Advises senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, department(s) and/or customers.
Thorough knowledge and skills associated with fiscal and budgetary planning.
Demonstrated advanced interpersonal skills to effectively interact with senior management, peer level managers and external industry representatives on matters of significance.
Excellent skills in collaboration and facilitation; effectively identifies challenges and barriers and quickly provides alternatives for resolution.
Thorough knowledge of Engineering function, goals and objectives related to Engineering.
Ability to manage department research initiatives, resources and fiscal/budget in a manner to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of HR-related practices and procedures.
