To plan, coordinate, and manage records and data systems for the department.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Creates reports and ensures accuracy of reporting system.
  • Develops and maintains department-wide data management systems.
  • Prepares reports and written materials.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends changes to systems and processes related to the collection, reporting, and dissemination of information.
  • Stays current regarding applicable rules and regulations, performance measures, data collection methodology, and state mandated data systems.
  • Works to integrate departmental systems and Austin Community College (ACC) data systems.
  • Provides quality assurance by analyzing and verifying data entered into the system.
  • Generates rosters and reports for instructors on a regular basis. Works with instructors to ensure all data is collected and is verifiable.
  • May train regular and hourly staff on data systems.
  • Plans and oversees archiving of records.
  • Creates reports for the supervisor and for internal and external stake holders.
  • Collaborates with IT staff and others to develop enhancements and solve technology problems including issues with ACC's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Combines data reports from various sources and systems to provide meaningful data analysis.
  • Serves as a liaison with other ACC departments to coordinate data-related issues and processes.
  • Stays current regarding federal and state rules, regulations, and performance measures, data collection methodology, and state mandated data systems.
  • Additional Job Specific Duties

    16. Create produces charts, graphs, maps, and tables that communicate information clearly.
    17. Coordinates and optimizes production of data graphics and reporting mechanisms.
    18. Designs, develops and produces basic data reporting and analysis tools.
    19. Assists with the development and utilization of quality control standards and systems to ensure that CE consistently provides the highest quality data to the Central Texas Education Community.KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    Data collection, verification, and compilation methods. Report design. Ability to communicate clearly and explain complex systems to non-technical personnel. Basic querying methods. Advanced Querying methods utilizing SQL and related tools.     Querying and extracting data from large database.Technology Skills

    Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Demonstrated Proficiency in technical programming.
    Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Use query language to create simple to complex reports from database management system. Demonstrated proficiency using advanced office software applications, including web presentation tools, data management, and analysis tool.Required Work Experience

  • Two years related work experience.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred Education

    Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Finance or related field. Physical Requirements

    Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

  • ACC Benefits OverviewFull-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

    ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
