Departmental Objective:

To secure gift support for the University through the cultivation and solicitation of its alumni, friends and other constituents to address current institutional priorities and provide support for the future through endowment.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will assist in maximizing the value derived from University fund raising/alumni information systems by programming, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining database driven applications, interfaces, reports, lists, and to assist with configuration, testing and training of the use of fund raising/alumni information systems focusing on supporting the needs of the Advancement team, programs and other constituents to support a growing program and emerging comprehensive campaign.

Required:

Advanced knowledge of systems analysis and design

Skilled at identifying data usage needs by surveying customers, observing business processes, and documenting business processes

Ability to develop plans to support data usage needs by automated or manual methods.

Ability to talk to customers about their business processes and strategies to develop ad-hoc reporting, lists, and application development strategies and solutions to support and enhance fund raising goals and donor/alumni relationships

Advanced ability to understand the needs and goals of Advancement and campaign business processes, strategies and constituencies to develop new system approaches and reports to help raise more money and care for donor relationships

Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical skills in both team and individual project environments

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through written and verbal communications with both technical and non-technical peers

Proven ability to model professional integrity and behavior

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or high school diploma or equivalent with equivalent experience that equates to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Experience Required: Significant experience working with and maintaining relational databases, such as Oracle (PL/SQL) or Microsoft SQL Server. Significant experience with creating analytical reports. Experience with object oriented programming languages.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Education Preferred: Post graduate coursework in computer science of related field.

Experience Preferred: Experience working in a fundraising environment. Experience working in a higher education environment. Experience working with end users to develop or modify business processes to take advantage of software systems. Experience with ERP systems such as Ellucian Banner Advancement or Raisers Edge or a modern CRM in an integrated systems environment. Experience with integrating client-server and web-based services with other third-party software solutions.
