Position Summary:

The Postdoctoral Associate will be working in the NIH funded project and will be involved in investigating the role of spermine oxidase in mediating mechanisms of retinal neurovascular damage in diabetic retinopathy. The postdoctoral researcher will develop experimental models, design, organize and conduct specialized experiments using established scientific protocols available in the laboratory and procedures. The researcher will also be responsible for designing new protocols if needed. The candidate will collect and analyze the data, summarize results and prepare/present figures for research conferences, grant applications and manuscripts. The postdoc will also be involved in the lab management, including oversight/supervision of undergraduate and/or graduate students, and other research personnel.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

Seeking candidates who are self-motivated to join an exciting and highly interactive research team in the field of vision research. The lab focuses on the mechanisms regulating retinal neuro-vascular damages. The approaches employed range from cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, and experimental mouse models.

- Posses good organizational skills, be detail-oriented and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Be able to complete work and meet deadlines.
- Have a willingness and ability to work with research animals.
- Basic competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and EndNote is required.
