Job Summary: The Senior Associate Athletics Director is part of a ranking system in order to establish seniority and typically has broad-based responsibilities. The Sr Associate AD will be responsible for the oversight of several different administrative services of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics involving the conduct, administration, and governance of the Intercollegiate Athletics programs and participating in the decision making process regarding key issues affecting the division.

Additional Department Summary: The Sr Associate Athletic Director, Development will be responsible for all aspects of the Intercollegiate Athletics’ fund raising activities including the coordination of all annual, major and planned gifts, capital campaigns corporate and foundation giving, and stewardship with a goal of maximizing donations to the department. This position will be responsible for the administration of the Athletics Development staff including operations, budget, and planning and implementation of policies.

As a member of the Administrative Staff, the Sr. Associate Athletics Director, Development will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the development staff to maximize contributions from all sources. This position will work closely with the Senior Deputy Director of Athletics / COO and Campus Leadership, to develop plans, set goals, monitor activities, and prepare action plans along with regular progress reports and overall evaluations of all fundraising activities. The incumbent shall analyze existing fundraising strategies and create innovative and new methods to promote and enhance philanthropic support for intercollegiate athletics from donors/prospects locally, regionally, and nationally. This position will report directly to the Senior Deputy Director of Athletics / COO and will manage all Development Officers within the Intercollegiate Athletics Department.

Required Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and at least 6 years of experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Willing and able to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Able and willing to travel as required. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: Proven success in major gifts, capital campaigns and annual fund. Exhibited success in establishing and meeting fundraising goals. Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations regarding compliance issues.

Excellent computer skills including ability to use software to track moves in management and to learn new systems as needed. Demonstrated public relations and interpersonal skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to speak in public addressing large groups.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and development experience in the collegiate environment, and demonstrated advancement to positions of increasing responsibility is preferred. Managerial and Operational experience in Athletics Development preferred.
