The primary purpose of the Financial Systems Applications Technician is to schedule or manually run centralized Banner processes or reports for the Finance, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources Payroll/Position Control modules. These specific processes or reports are ones that are critical in the production operations for Financial Services and Human Resources and often involve integrations between the modules or from/to other systems (both internal and external to UNC Charlotte). The enterprise application Automic is used to schedule Banner processes and reports. The processes are monitored for successful completion output and resolution of any resulting errors or incomplete processing. Additional responsibilities include: Chart of Accounts Maintenance including data integrity maintenance, process and request form maintenance and participation on the Chart of Accounts Team.Minimum Education/Experience:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming, or Bachelor’s degree with some computer related coursework from an appropriately accredited university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Journey level requires an additional six months experience.
Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
The technician band requires basic foundation of knowledge and skills in area of specialization generally obtained from graduating from a technical school or community college with a degree in computer programming or graduation from a four-year college or university with twelve semester hours in programming. Experience in the field of work related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of the Financial Systems Applications Technician is to schedule, or manually run, and manage centralized Banner processes or reports for the Finance, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources Payroll/Position Control modules; to provide Production Support to users to assist with or troubleshoot system functionality; and Chart of Accounts Maintenance including data integrity maintenance, process and request form maintenance and participation on the Chart of Accounts Team.Other Work Responsibilities:
System upgrade testing; complete critical fiscal year end and calendar year end tasks; maintain documentation for job and department related standard operation procedures.Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
- Experience as a functional user with Internet Native Banner (INB), 3-4 years preferred. Work Location:
- Experience running Banner jobs or processes in INB Banner, 2-3 years preferred.
- Scheduling jobs or processes using a scheduling software, 2-3 years preferred.
- Experience with file transfer processes.
-Higher Education &/or state of NC experience preferred.
