Responsibilities and Duties
Review and convert student records and transcripts from legacy student database systems into PeopleSoft and other student database systems. Coordinate with the technology team as needed to troubleshoot and resolve student record issues. Requires high attention to detail. Provide customer service at the Registrar's Service Center counter to students, faculty and campus community. Answer PeopleSoft inquiries, screen and respond to emails sent to RecordsandRegistration@towson.edu, answer phone calls and refer to appropriate departments. Enter registration as requested by all students each semester while being aware of policies regarding credit load limits and department consent required by departments. Assist students in alternate selection of course availability when the primary courses are not available  or cancelled. Assist students with online registration issues (waitlist, prerequisites and closed courses). Process change of grades, approved third attempt of a course and repeated courses. Assist faculty and staff with the input of final grades at the end of the semesters. Assist in correcting records for graduating students so they may receive their degree in a timely manner. The same records correction process applies to the graduating seniors. Process change of majors and minors of students' academic program/plan. Process change of name requests. Participate in special projects as assigned. Process transfer petition forms to post transfer credits. Verify form is approved and official transcript from the other institutions which proper course and grade are notated. Input data from approval petition and official transcript into PeopleSoft to be recorded on the student's official Towson University transcript. Post study abroad courses on academic record approved by the Study Abroad Office. Assist department administrative assistants with class schedules input into PeopleSoft. Receive and input departments' class schedules into PeopleSoft. Assist Chairpersons and Administrative Assistants with proofing schedules and inputting changes as requested. Proofread room assignments and schedules to ensure that all changes and corrections have been noted. Maintain and retrieve student electronic academic folders. Scan documents into Imaging system (ImageNow) for archival purposes. Index documents to the proper student account, retrieve and then shred. Assist with student inquiries and resolve conflicts or missing information.



Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years of experience providing administrative support.

Must have superior customer service skills.

Must be computer literate.

Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Image Now a plus.

 

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

 

A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
