Job Summary:
The Student LoanRepresentative will serve as the campus expert on matters concerning DirectLending and Private Loan eligibility and is directly is responsible forcounseling students and parents regarding student loan eligibility, process,and repayment. The position serves as the liaison between OSU-OKC, thirdparty default prevention agencies, and federal loan servicers. Monitors loan originations and resolveorigination errors or reject. Recommends changes regarding office policies andprocedures concerning federal guidelines governing loan processing. Consistently monitors loan default rates anddetermines strategies for default management and Financial Literacy educationcampaign for OSU-OKC. This position willalso serve as a backup for Financial Aid Specialists during absences and lunchperiods.

Essential Job Functions:

    Resolve processing errors resulting from Direct or Private loan originations.
    Review and updates area procedures to ensure alignment with changing federal regulations.
    Perform monthly direct loan reconciliation.
    Request direct loan funds reimbursement from Accounting Department.
    Provides guidance to staff on issues relating to direct and private loan matters.
    Performs analysis of eligibility for mid-year transfer students.
    Regularly resolves disbursement delays stemming from missing loan requirements.
    Timely review of loan offers to determine a timeframe to rescind offers.
    Counsels students concerning loan debt, delinquency, repayment, and default.
    Participates in workshops relative to Financial Aid Awareness.
    Will operate as a backup for Financial Aid Specialists position.
    Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional development each year.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience

Experience in post-secondary financialaid administration with an emphasis on federal direct loan processing.

Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

    Comprehensive knowledge of federal guidelines governing loan processing.
    Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    A high degree of integrity; ability to work in a sensitive, highly confidential, and professional environment.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities imposed by frequent deadlines, peak workloads and public/student contact.
    Ability to work independently and also collaborate within a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
    Communicates diplomatically, clearly, and effectively. Verbally and written exchange of information, give/receive instructions, and respond to inquiries appropriately.
    Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
    Work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications:
    Associate’s Degree inAccounting
    Experience with Ellucian’sBanner software
    Experience using EDplatforms, COD & NSLDS
    Experience in Federal DirectLending Loans
Working Conditions:

    Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
    Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
    Ability to work in a remote environment based on campus and departmental needs.
Physical Requirements:

    During peak enrollment and processing periods must be able to handle high volume of phone calls and student inquiries.
    Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
    Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
    Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
