Director of National Scholarships

The HTC Honors College at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Director of National Scholarships.

The Director of National Scholarships will work closely with partners across the University to develop and implement a campus-wide effort to increase the number of Coastal Carolina University students who successfully apply for distinguished external scholarships and fellowships. The position will report to the Dean of the HTC Honors College and will work in collaboration with all academic units to serve students across the University.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
•Serve as the campus expert on external scholarships, fellowships, and awards, including but not limited to Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Gates-Cambridge, Fulbright, Truman, Udall, Goldwater, and Critical Languages Scholarships;
•Work with campus partners to enhance publicity of fellowship and scholarship opportunities;
•Work with campus partners to provide training and assistance in order to expand faculty involvement in the fellowship process;
•Develop a culture of early identification of potential scholarship and fellowship applicants and work closely with these students to mentor them through the application process;
•Maintain institutional records of applicants and their success;
•Develop effective on-campus selection processes;
•Develop effective means of communicating the results of selection processes to the campus community;
•Maintain a dynamic and constantly updated website;
•Lead and implement program assessment and reporting activities; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: A Master’s degree and at least five (5) years of full-time experience related to coordinating national scholarship application processes and/or advising students for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships are required. A successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, the ability to collaborate across academic units and with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to successfully build and implement new initiatives.
