Summary of Duties

The Building Services Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day oversight of the Borra Center for Health Sciences, including scheduling events, the conference room, and the lobby area as needed; and making contact with appropriate resources to support effective and efficient operations and building security. The position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources, who has oversight for off-site centers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as the liaison between the Center and Rhodes State Campus resources. Serve as the primary contact for the Community.Refer all public relations inquiries and requests to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations.Create and maintain a list of internal and external resources designated for building operations support. Identify and resolve immediate operational issues in the building.Inspect and maintain meeting rooms (prior to and at conclusion of all events); unlock and lock appropriate doors for scheduled events.Work collaboratively with an off-site center team to discuss pertinent information, issues, and to develop and update building policies and regulations for use, following College Governance and policy/procedure development.Responsible for safety and security of the facility, furnishings, equipment, guests and employees, utilizing the designated resources.Responsible for distributing and maintaining building communications and signage.Ensure daily set-up of audio-visual equipment (PA systems, slide/overhead projectors, LCD projectors, computers, TV/VCR/DVD players, speakers, etc.) as needed.Maintain a willingness to assist facility users in any reasonable request, including last-minute changes and audio-visual needs, and coordinate activities with other personnel/managers as well as Custodial and Security staff on duty. Execute emergency procedures, as outlined in the College’s Emergency and Evacuation Plan for the Borra Center.Maintain constant awareness of building users through a Building Utilization Access ProcedureDevelop and maintain campus information materials for visitors and guests, as well as a schedule and information regarding facility events. Manage onsite facility and/or customer problems, conflicts and issues.Model appropriate behavior, provide leadership and assist in training student employees for appropriate operational functions.Create a friendly atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors, by building positive working relationships.Coordinate events with other College departments, service agencies and community constituents, as needed. Provide tours of the facility while maintaining awareness of the student learning environment.Is knowledgeable of and adheres to College policies, procedures, and operationsOther duties as assigned. Experience, Skills & Abilities

Required:

Must possess skills in customer service, organization, responsibility, teamwork, leadership and management. Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills and the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Must be able to adapt to changes, have initiative and a willingness to learn. Must display tactfulness in dealing with students, faculty, staff and public.Must be available for a flexible schedule to include nights and / or weekends. Possess excellent communication skills.Able to be flexible and handle different situations with confidence and leadership.Preferred:
Experience working with college recreational complex or event venues. Adept in Microsoft Office. Education & Certifications
