The Department of Neurology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit dynamic candidates to expand its clinical and basic science research programs within our Neuro-muscular section. The position is full-time faculty (rank is determined based on knowledge and experience), with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care, and community service. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus.  Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e., patient volume, schedules, research study needs). We are the premier research university in Colorado, serving more than 30,000 undergraduate, graduate and health professions students in Denver, Aurora and online and awarding nearly 4,000 degrees each year. The renowned researchers and award-winning faculty offer more than 100-degree programs through 13 colleges and schools. In the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the University’s School of Medicine was awarded more than $516.2 million in research grants and contracts. The Anschutz Medical Campus includes over 5 million square feet of research, educational and clinical space on 227 acres.

This faculty will work in the Neuro-muscular section within the Department of Neurology, which consists of several physician providers, fellows, and APPs. This position will provide outpatient / inpatient and emergency department consultations through the hospital and will engage with colleagues across the Department of Neurology, University of Colorado Hospitals, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and external constituents.

Job Responsibilities:

The duties in this faculty position will include teaching, research and service responsibilities. The overall determination of research and clinical activities and allocation of time and effort will be subject to the determination of the Section Head.

Clinical duties may include responsibilities at the faculty-level for in-patient / out-patient services as well as consultations, and emergency consultation of the Neurology Department. While on service, obligations will include supervision of medical students, residents, and some fellows, supervision of patient procedures, and teaching of the house-staff as well as students.

Teaching activities including attending neurology services, leading teaching conferences and training medical students, residents, and fellows.

Administrative responsibilities will include data entry into hospital systems, development of critical pathways, committee work and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission. It is assumed the bulk of this non-clinical time will be spent working toward the production of scholarship activities. Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department and specialty programs is expected. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:

Assistant Professor – $160,000 – $225,000

Associate Professor- $187,000 - $242,000

Professor – $210,000 - $300,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
