Position EmphasisThis person will represent the DOP across the University, School of Medicine, and Children’s Hospital Colorado stakeholders to positively impact diversity, equity, and inclusion across the full spectrum of our educational programs. This position will provide strategic vision and leadership for diversity, equity, and inclusion across the department for the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs that enhance the educational and training programs in alignment with the departmental mission and hospital goals. Professional FieldSocial and Behavioral Sciences, Medicine or Mental HealthSupervision ReceivedThis person will receive direction from and report to the Residency Program DirectorSupervision ExercisedThis position will provide performance evaluation input for the residency program administrative support staff and mentorship for junior faculty engaged in work with the DOP Diversity Committee.Examples of Work Performed- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to advance diversity, equity and inclusion opportunities within the Pediatric Residency Program and Fellowship training programs.Inform and work closely with the residency and fellowship program search committees, residency and fellowship program directors, and divisional leadership to develop, implement, and manage initiatives that enhance the recruitment, retention, and success of trainees with emphasis on opportunities for underrepresented groups.Strategically work with DOP and educational program leadership to foster an environment where all feel welcome and included. Promote organizational and interdisciplinary collaboration among SOM and CHCO educational programs that will enhance diversity awareness and education.Serve as a results-oriented catalyst for change across the sections within the department, inspiring colleagues to achieve new levels of ownership, expertise, and confidence in the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.Provide leadership oversight for the residency program sub-committee on diversity, equity and inclusion and participate in working groups to integrate diversity, inclusion, and equity best practices in the department.Serve as a DOP faculty representative on University / SOM on select Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion education committees.Act as resource for organizing diversity, equity and inclusion trainings and forums to promote diversity, equity inclusion throughout the department. (e.g. cultural and linguistic competency, Unconscious Bias, Inclusive leadership, Intercultural communication, anti-racism training, culture and identity, historical trauma, microaggressions).
