Responsibilities

This position works with the Associate Dean for Juris Master Programs to direct online concentrations for the College of Law Juris Master (JM) degree program. Responsible for planning, administering, reviewing and evaluating program activities, goals, needs and outcomes. Oversees all operational aspects of course development and delivery, to include hiring processes, staff supervision, course approval submissions and LMS content management. Directs enrollment activities and evaluates program results, delivering program statistics and reports as requested by the Dean and others.

Oversees administration and finance processes related to online JM concentrations. Executes hiring agreements for faculty and research assistants, supervises research assistants and other OPS support staff, and works with the Office of Distance Learning (ODL) and College of Law fiscal staff to ensure timely payment of all employees.

Evaluates program procedures, including expenses for payroll, marketing agreements, program-related travel and equipment purchases, and recommends revisions to the Dean and Associate Dean. Prepares enrollment and budget projections for online concentrations.

Directs enrollment activities for online JM students, to include application reviews, recommendations for admission, and development of enrollment targets and recruiting strategies. Responsible for integrity of enrollment data in Campus Solutions, working with ITS and University Registrar to streamline processes for entering and tracking student data.

Responsible for program planning and course implementation, to include course development and delivery schedule, submission of course approvals to the Faculty Senate Graduate Policy Committee, and completion of course LMS sites. Coordinates regular trainings for faculty and teaching assistants, to ensure compliance with Quality Matters standards during course development and delivery.

Advises prospective and enrolled students on course selection and academic planning. Initiates regular reviews and updates of web site and marketing materials. Develops a schedule of in-person training events specific to individual concentrations, and collects feedback from program students to inform future goals.

Ensures compliance with processes and procedures related to accreditation standards of the American Bar Association (ABA) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Responsible for program reporting as required by ABA, SACS, and state/university entities such as the Board of Governors.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six years of work experience in operations management and/or academic program coordination, or a Master’s degree and minimum four years’ work experience, is required. (Note: related post-high school education and/or experience can substitute at the comparable rate).

Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software and Adobe Acrobat or similar software, as well as social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Must have strong technical, organizational, and data management skills. Must be able to manage multiple assignments and employees simultaneously, organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and to interact successfully with students, alumni, faculty, administrators and external constituents.

Preferred Previous experience administering courses through Canvas or another Learning Management System is preferred, as well as experience supervising multiple employees.

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated Salary Range of $62,000-$72,000
