Job Description:

Greets callers and in-person visitors and handles their inquiries or refers them to appropriate staff
Schedules appointments/registrations and/or maintains and updates appointment/class calendars
Records and routes messages
Receives and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail (postage, print address labels etc.) and prepares mail for intra-office courier
Operates and troubleshoots various office equipment and computer systems (Network Printers, Scanners, Brochure folders, paper cutters, laminators, book binders etc.)

Updates and maintains programs and events on UF/IFAS Extension, Broward County Website and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc.)
Prepares advertising and marketing materials as directed and creates publications and displays using a wide variety of software applications as directed
Distributes event information
Keeps building ready to receive the public at all times
Provides support to meetings as needed including set-up, technology, break-down, and other duties as assigned.
Work as a team to provide office admin support including maintaining appropriate coverage of reception desk

Operates a multi-line telephone, takes messages, answers voicemails and general emails from public
Performs general office duties, such as filing, data entry, supply organization etc.
Maintains inventory of office and janitorial supplies and alerts Administrative Specialist of necessary orders
Posts and maintains information in public areas such as schedules and updates COVID Signage as needed
Receives and processes Horticultural Samples from Patrons and distributes to appropriate department
Assists with staff meeting minutes and correspondence for staff meetings, advisory groups, and other meetings

Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

$15/hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must possess a professional attitude which is conveyed in all interactions, communications and appearance. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Must be able to work well in a team environment.
