GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, performs student support and general secretarial work at the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa (KRCUI) in Coralville. Duties to include but not limited to: coordinating student materials for Kirkwood classes; composing routine student correspondence; assisting with student assessments; provide general software support to students; proctoring student exams; assisting with event setup and monitoring: maintaining records and general information that requires knowledge of policies and procedures related to Kirkwood Community College and KRCUI initiatives. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide positive, student, faculty and customer service with frequent interruptions.Perform various office clerical duties including filing, typing, scanning, maintaining copiers and other equipment, ordering supplies, sorting/distributing mail, etc.Coordinate materials distribution, and test monitoring for KTS related coursework.Coordinate student support services for students in collaboration with campus departments.Assist in the scheduling, promotion, registration, and starting of all Kirkwood offerings.Assist with general software support to student working on computers.Assist with student life, registration and orientation activities for students.Answer and/or re-direct basic inquiries from internal and external customers either via phone calls, email or in person. Assit in troubleshooting and scheduling center events including audio visual and presentation.Assist the Workplace Learning Connection staff with on-site job shadow support and support for internship interviews. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves sitting most of the time in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping and walking. Any combination of secretarial/clerical experience and/or post–secondary secretarial training equivalent to three years of full-time employment OR an appropriate Associate degree.Must have at least one year experience using word processing and computer equipment. Must be able to type at an acceptable level and experience with spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software preferred with computerized record systems helpful. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
