The Dalla Lana School of Public Health is a Faculty of the University of Toronto that originated as one of the Schools of Hygiene begun by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1927. The School went through a dramaticrenaissance after the 2003 SARS crisis and it is now the largest public health school in Canada, with more than 850 faculty, 1,000 students, and research and training partnerships with institutions throughout Toronto and the world. With $40.4 million in research funding per year, the School supports discovery in global health, tobacco impacts on health, occupational disease and disability, air pollution, inner city and Indigenous health, among many other areas.

Your opportunity:

The office of the Associate Dean, Academic Affairs is responsible for the promotion of innovative student learning experiences and administrative oversight of the teaching programs in Dalla Lana School of Public Health and the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation.

As the Project Coordinator, you will work under the general direction of the Associate Dean, Academic Affairs to plan, facilitate and execute initiatives and special projects. Using your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will demonstrate initiative in building relationships with stakeholders and liaise with staff, students and academic leadership to ensure progress is made on initiatives and projects. Your proven track record of successfully supporting projects from start to finish and working in a fast-paced environment will enable our success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Implementing projects plans and assessing project output against quality control standards
  • Conducting market research, designing and disseminating surveys, and conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency
  • Analyzing processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement
  • Tracking and keeping informed of funding opportunities
  • Drafting a variety of project documents and generating reports
  • Monitoring accounts for a project and/or program

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of recent and related experience, preferably within a University or comparable environment
  • Experience leading and managing projects and priorities, including a strong understanding of the application of project management methodology
  • Experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, , as well as coordinating meetings, including minute-taking and preparing agendas
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data, interpreting findings and making recommendations for improvement based on insightsand best practices
  • Demonstrated experience conducting market research and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Experience drafting and editing a broad range of documents
  • Demonstrated experience tracking and reporting on meaningful quantitative metrics
  • Experience designing and disseminating surveys
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to foster positive collaborative relationships
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and survey tools
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities and projects with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and high quality
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, organizational skills, strong proof-reading and editing skills
  • Ability to assess processes and procedures, utilize critical thinking and synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem-solving skills and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently but also as part of a team
