Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SQL, Oracle Database, Oracle PeopleTools, Object Oriented Programming ,XML, junit, integration broker, and SOAP highly desired.

Familiarity with UGA business processes and functional areas related to the financial system.

Experience with taking a software development cycle from beginning to end while leading a team.

Position Summary:

Directly manages, leads and mentors a team of 4 – 6 programmers and analysts who perform the work of developing, documenting, testing and supporting the Financial Management system and its integrations with other critical business applications for the institution.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Work independently to solve complex problems, handle multiple work assignments, changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication, presentation and project management skills.
Interact directly with functional and other leaders across campus to develop solutions, specifications, and aid in long term planning and decision making for institute-wide requirements.

Possess experience with managing a team of developers. Will be responsible for developing working specifications, overseeing testing, guiding development and evaluating team per UGA and EITS standards. Will work with Administrative Information Systems and other EITS and university Leadership to adhere to all relevant HR policies.

Experience with SQL, Oracle Database, Oracle PeopleTools, Object Oriented Programming, and XML highly desired. 3+ years experience with PeopleSoft or other software development and management of developers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and management of PeopleSoft integrations, data management, and development team under the direction of the IT Senior Manager for Administrative Information Systems (AIS)
1.Cultivate effective working relationships between IT and client community to maintain ongoing awareness of information needs and uses. Recommend technologies and propose solutions to meet customer requirements.
2.Direct, supervise and coordinate efforts of application analysts and programmers in planning, designing, testing, documenting and installing information systems. Evaluate and adjust plans to reach goals and ensure the optimal use of resources
3.Provide leadership and oversight to ensure that EITS and AIS development and change management policies are adhered to. Ensure team maintains appropriate standard operating procedures and other related documentation.
4.Participate in upgrade, patch and fix analysis and system testing

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership and oversight in AIS PeopleSoft application development projects and overall service delivery processes.
1.Interview and consult with clients and provide system design services to clients on enterprise-wide needs. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues requiring expert level business expertise.
2.Implement and utilize appropriate project management techniques.
3.Help analysts determine detail program and data requirements and ensure requirements are defined for any changes. Analyze impact of changes and resolve any conflicts.
4.Write and/or review program and project specifications for AIS PeopleSoft support staff. Review completed project for accuracy and adherence to department standards.
5.Ensure modification are documented and guide technical analysts to deliver application program modifications and improvements to end users
6.Provide technical support for programming languages and tools utilized within AIS as needed for specific job responsibilities

Lead, mentor and supervise AIS PeopleSoft support staff.
1.Has team leadership responsibilities including preparing performance evaluations.
2.Coordinate personnel resources; delegate responsibilities to others assigned to the project or task.
3.Functions as a mentor for other IT professionals in their career development.
4.Effectively communicate written and verbal project specifications for individual programmers or project support team.
5.Maintain broad knowledge of existing and emerging programming languages, database management systems, project management software, and other tools that are, or are planned to be, utilized/supported by the teams supervised.
6.Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of business practices and effectively conveys knowledge to colleagues

1.Be on call for critical/core systems/application support 24/7.
2.Be expected to provide emergency response for critical systems and applications as needed from AIS leadership.

4.Adhere to and effectively communicate pre-established guidelines and standards.
5.Delegate troubleshooting responsibilities; review solutions before implementation.
