The University of Georgia’s Office of Online Learning works with faculty and programs to develop and market impactful online graduate programs which marry the strengths of UGA with the needs of the labor market in Georgia and the nation. The office also helps develop and promote high-quality, engaging summer courses that allow students who are working or pursuing experiential learning opportunities—such as internships or study abroad—to graduate in four years or less.

Position Summary:

The senior marketing manager oversees all centrally managed marketing and communications focused on increasing enrollments in online degrees, certificates, and academic courses offered by Colleges and Schools at the University of Georgia.

The individual in this position is responsible for the UGA Online Learning brand image, positioning, and overall strategy. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that positive and collaborative relationships with schools and colleges are maintained for all marketing and communications efforts.

This position leverages the power of current and emerging technology to execute forward-looking marketing and communication strategies and manages the office’s marketing team. This role ensures a student-centered approach to marketing that results in a positive and cohesive user experience from initial point of contact through enrollment. In addition to brand strategy, this position will provide strategic direction for advertising campaigns, content marketing, web design, prospective student lead nurturing, and the overall prospective student experience. This position also coordinates market research analyses for UGA’s graduate programs and online programs in advance of program approvals to determine their market viability and to identify new market opportunities.

This position reports to the Director of the Office of Online Learning within the Office of Instruction and has two direct reports, the Marketing Professional and the Enrollment Coach.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Proven track record of strategically developing and delivering high ROI integrated multichannel marketing campaigns.
Experience developing multimedia content marketing strategies as part of a fully integrated marketing plan.
Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Exceptional people skills with the ability to instill confidence, trust, and establish positive working relationships with internal clients.
The ability to effectively manage people and outsourced resources.
Experience establishing accountability measures and tracking performance for a continuous improvement approach.
Proven ability to identify and understand target audiences.
Experience using CRM and marketing automation software.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Leverage the power of current and emerging technology to execute a forward-looking, multi-faceted, comprehensive strategy to elevate awareness and the academic reputation of the University’s online offerings. Develop brand strategy for a cohesive UGA Online Learning brand ensuring that positive and collaborative relationships with schools and colleges are maintained for all marketing and communications efforts. Provide creative direction in alignment with the UGA brand guidelines for advertising, multimedia, and communications.

Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy leveraging owned and paid media such as social channels, websites, blogs, and news outlets. Analyze results, utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices, and implement continuous improvement to expand the reach and engagement of communications.
