Position Description:
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Coordinator conducts recruitment, enrollment, study assessment visits/data collection, and administrative support for research studies within the UCLA Center for LGBTQ+ Advocacy, Research and Health (C-LARAH).

Typical duties include: Conducting recruitment of potential study participants from a variety of venues (in person outreach efforts) and online. Conducting study related retention efforts to ensure participants contact information is up-to-date. Coordinating enrollment visits and follow-up visits for research studies (calling participants and interfacing with staff at recruitment sites). Arranging and conducting study visits with participants; Coordinating with other community partner recruitment sites; maintaining regulatory procedures and coordinating the design and development of study materials, including recruitment ads. Maintains Center website, which is used for recruitment across studies. Assesses and documents eligibility and participation status of candidates. Conducts behavioral interviews with study participants in a clear, open minded, non-judgmental manner.

Additional duties include: supports PI and research team with administrative duties for ongoing research related activities across designated research studies; supports the submission of scientific journal manuscripts, and conducts editing, writing, and preparation of references for manuscripts and conference presentations; Supports grant writing and study progress reports as needed; Maintains current knowledge of HIV research by reading medical journals, articles and other HIV-related publications.
