Position Summary

The Facilities Supervisor oversees the facilities operations including housekeeping, custodial, and maintenance activities and assists in coordination and supervision of service personnel in various neighborhoods. This position supervises, schedules, prioritizes, assigns and evaluates the work of support staff; supervises event set-ups and/or special arrangements for conferences, special bookings or programs; assists in developing and coordinating major maintenance projects; oversees operations in order to maintain quality control and meet deadlines; forecasts needs and orders supplies in order to maintain inventory levels; prepares special and periodic financial or other reports and maintains unit records; and inspects facility operations in order to maintain health and safety standards in order to ensure compliance with University, State and Federal rules and regulations.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school with coursework in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment, and may require one to three years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Hours

Variable start times from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or 12:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and occasional 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.
