Community Campus Administrator

Position Summary

The Community Campus Administrator serves as the administrator of the Shared Discovery Curriculum/Late Clinical Experience (SDC/LCE) student program and as the primary contact for CHM students within the community campus; facilitates the academic and student support services for third and fourth-year students with regard to curriculum, career guidance and development, research opportunities, and other areas of interest; assists with human resources functions for the community, including hiring and supervision of support staff; manages and monitors the budget; maintains faculty and community relations in partnership with the Community Assistant Dean. This position will require occasional travel to other community campuses throughout Michigan.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Education, Health Education, Educational Administration or a related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with educational programs, budget management, supervision and knowledge of curriculum in the area of employment; word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in higher education; experience in student affairs and services; academic counseling and/or knowledgeable of resources available for medical students;; experience and appreciation of working with diverse populations; expertise in Microsoft Office applications and database management software; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead a team of employees; superior organization skills with experience and interest in learning and using course management software, electronic portfolios, and distance learning technology.
