Position Summary
  • Independently install and maintain Linux IT systems in an industrial controls system (ICS) environment including deployment, security, automation, monitoring, logging, and upgrades.
  • Support Linux Hypervisor administration
  • Linux web applications via Apache Tomcat
  • Linux Operating Systems patching and upgrades (Debian and Redhat)
  • Puppet Administration
  • Write, update, and maintain configuration management programming code
  • Develop documentation and procedures for systems and users
  • Analyze existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement including automation of IT tasks
  • Support industrial controls system network users
  • If skillset is present, provide back up support for Windows server administration, SharePoint Administration, SCCM windows management, and Citrix workspaces
  • Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

    Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of experience in related industry
    • Experience with hypervisor clusters
    • Experience with Docker Containers using Docker Compose
    • IT networking experience with switches, firewalls, and VLANs
    • Experience with clustered and high availability services
    • Experience with enterprise storage SAN/NAS systems
    • Experience with database administration of MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB
    • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
    • Experience with Apache and Nginx web server platforms
    • Experience with Git version controls system
    • Experience with Puppet configuration management system
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Perl, Java, and/or shell scripting
    • Willingness to work with a group on large projects
