 Post-Doctoral Position in Trauma Responsive Instruction Implementation

Regular Full-time, Pay Grade 00

Position Description:

The role of the postdoctoral research associate is to develop, evaluate, and make data-informed improvements of an online, asynchronous, trauma informed instruction learning modules for both the Google Sites and Canvas LMS platforms. This is a one-year position concluding June 30, 2022.


The primary duty of this role is the creation online, asynchronous, learning course modules addressing trauma informed instruction that can be used as a standalone course and/or integrated into an existing course.

  • Development of learning modules for school teachers across grade-levels and Instructional Leadership/School Administrators.
  • Development of learning modules for both the Google Sites and Canvas LMS platforms.
  • Implement the pilot phase of this project, including managing the data collection, providing technical assistance to Educator Preparation Program partners, securing local school participation and feedback process.
  • Travel to at least two of the four scheduled focus group meetings.

Position Requirements:

  1. Ph.D. in education, educational psychology, educational leadership or administration, teacher education, psychology, behavior, or highly related area. 
  2. Advanced knowledge of instructional design and Google Suite,  Canvas, and other LMS.
  3. Advanced knowledge of trauma informed instructional practices.
  4. Advanced knowledge and experiences with data collection, effective evaluation models, research methods, and systems,
  5. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and problem solve.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  8. The ability to write clearly (e.g. to produce drafts of papers for publication in scientific journals and web based public outreach without too much oversight); evidence of successful prior publication is a plus
