About Us The Center for Assessment, Referral and Education (CARE) serves as the single point of access for mental health services and resources on and off campus at Georgia Tech. Services provided in CARE include confidential clinical assessments, referrals, and follow-up case management. CARE collaborates extensively with the Counseling Center and Stamps Psychiatry clinic as well as other resources on campus to foster student health and well-being. CARE clinicians do not provide individual or group therapy; the department serves as a rapid access assessment and referral department.
- Provide comprehensive assessment of the client’s treatment needs and personal support systems with the ability to practice independently. Coordinate client referrals to campus and community mental health providers and document these referrals through a CARE treatment plan. Assist in maintaining and updating referral databases.Provide follow-up case management services to clients including the coordination of community referral services, hospitalization or hospital-based care, and transition planning. Perform safety assessments as needed for the client. Possesses an ability to initiate and complete a 1013 (Involuntary Hospitalization Commitment) with assistance and help facilitate the hospitalization process. Assist with data reporting, record-keeping, and client survey administration for continuous approvement.Perform other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in social work or counseling or clinical psychology.
One to three or more years’ experience post master’s degree
Certifications or Licenses Required
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Associates Professional Counselor (LAPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
