8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.Primary Purpose of Position:
Primary operator of a Retail Systems Software Business Partners (RSSBP).
Serves as Postal Window Clerk for the University Contract Post Office, collecting money for U.S. Postal Service products and services, including postal stationary, certificates of mailing, certified mail, return receipts, insured, delivery confirmation, registered and campus mail.
Sell and collect money for money orders.
Communicates to customers standard services and processes using both US Postal Service and University policies and procedures.
Assists mail route clerks in receiving, sorting, forwarding, and distributing mail to faculty, staff and students on campus.
Input data into database used for benchmarking and tracking system to track incoming/outgoing packages.
Reconcile stamps and monies daily.
Utilize Postal and University scanners to scan packages to shelves.Minimum Education/Experience:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or successful completion of its equivalency and one year of relevant experience in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Essential Job Duties:
Understands the policies and procedures for issuing stamps and supplies to Departments through invoice.
Employee must also understand all departmental billing requirements to ensure that postage stamps are not purchased for personal use.
Clearly integrates all Postal policies and procedures so that they correspond with the Universities policies.
Check mail to ensure correct postage, packages are in proper condition for mailing.
Obtain signature from receipts of special delivery and accountable mail.
Sell postal stamps and services utilizing Point of Sales and Retail Systems Software.
Input information and correctly assign student packages into tracking systems and parcel lockers.
Utilize scanners to sort and distribute mail. Lease campus boxes.
Controls all access in and around the window operations with no incidents or unauthorized access resulting in safe or cash drawer theft. Maintain cash and stamp drawer.
Assist customers with mailing needs and answer questions regarding mail regulations and rates.
Maintain financial or account records.
Assign and distribute packages to parcel lockers and to students via the package window.
Must have ability to multi-task while working in a fast paced environment.Other Work Responsibilities:
Process Passports and back up clerk for Union Station.
Assist in Bulk Area stuffing and labeling envelopes.
Route delivery to department.
Troubleshoot all machines, computers and scanners used.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Customer Service.Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
At least three years working in Postal environment.
Experience selling postal stamps and supplies using a Point of Sales.
Knowledge of Microsoft office software and working in databases.Work Location:
