JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's National Brick Research Center is looking for a Public Information Specialist to fulfill the following duties:

  • Performs industry outreach and sponsor relation activities for the National Brick Research Center (NBRC).
  • Assists NBRC's Director and Associate Director by providing programmatic support for NBRC member relation and educational functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - Program/Administrative Support:

Provides programmatic support to the NBRC Director and Associate Director of Operations in their instructional, research, and public service efforts. Primary editor for NBRC in manuscript, book, and report preparation. Assists in key functions for the Center operations including human resources, payroll processing, and records management.

30% - Essential - Industry Outreach and Sponsor Relations:

Administers comprehensive social media program for member communication. Key areas include: Facebook, Web Sites, and Twitter. Represents NBRC Director in contacts with members and industry partners. Maintains contact information and distributes membership Directory to Center members.

30% - Essential - Member Events:

Provides production and technical support for educational programs for the NBRC to promote the Center's mission. Key areas include: "Brickyard" Magazine, Webinars, Short Courses, Seminars, Center meetings, and annual Forum Preparation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree in related field or relevant experience

Work Experience 6+ Months

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range: ($ 27,527.00 - $ 35,000.00)
