Department Information The HR Orientation & Recognition Coordinator plans, organizes and directs a wide range of logistics to ensure a smooth onboarding/orientation experience for new employees for AU and AUHS. This includes all preparatory steps prior to, during and following the orientation to ensure that new employees of AU and AUHS are poised for success in their new role with us. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR Representatives to include HR Business Specialists/Onboarding Coordinators and the Employee Relations & Organizational Development team and leadership to create a culture of service excellence while identifying methods to measure the effectiveness of service excellence training efforts and performance outcomes for all new employees across the enterprise. Oversees the development and maintenance of an enterprise web presence for new employees and hiring departments to facilitate constant communication of expected goals and outcomes for all new employees. Serves as the point of contact for navigating the verification for new employees (pre-onboarding) within specific job titles and ensuring all required steps are taken to ensure compliance with AU and/or AUHS policies.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Education, Social Sciences, Human Resources, or related field and a minimum of three years' experience in similar positions in healthcare or a higher learning institution An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the degreeKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated LMS knowledge, creation of surveys and reporting
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and technical skills to develop training content
  • Experience with adult learning theory, needs assessment, analysis, instructional design, development and delivery, and evaluation
  • Experience providing customer service training or in a customer service setting
  • Flexibility with understanding and adjusting to Division and Institutional requirements
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Education, Social Sciences, Human Resources or related field
  • Previous experience in the development, delivery and implementation of new hire orientation and customer service training and/or service recovery resolution
  • Some course development and facilitation with small and large groups
  • Previous experience utilizing various training methods, delivery, multimedia and instructional design

    Coordinates bi-weekly new employee orientation and collaborates with applicable HR sections, hiring managers and program presenters. Fulfills all administrative requirements and documentation for new employee orientation. Ensures compliance with the orientation requirements of The Joint Commission and the University System of Georgia.Leads the coordination of service award and employee recognition ceremonies whether virtual or in-personAssists with coordinating the onboarding process for new employeesDesigns and develops effective classroom programs on communication skills, best practice hiring processes, respect/civility, team developmen and other topics as needed directed for all levels of staffAssists with the learning management system (LMS) to assign new employee training. Employs various training methodologies (classroom, group, individual, and online) to support compliance efforts aligned with Joint Commission requirements and meet the needs of the workforce. Establishes and maintains confidentiality with sensitive materials and informationCollects and compiles survey information from new employees to assist in continuous improvement to the new employee orientation experienceMaintains appropriate documentation to enure compliance with established policies, procedures and accrediting body standards, specifically The Joint CommissionServes as customer service liaison to improve processes, information flow, and suggests and/or facilitates excellence training initiatives. Tracks system-wide measurement results of customer service excellence successes. Assists with monthly, quartrly, and annual training activity reportsServes as the point of contact for navigating the verification for new employees (pre-onboarding) within specific job titles and ensuring required steps are takenPerform all other related duties as assigned
