Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and progressively responsible office support experience. Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification or commitment to pursue certification. Educational background and experience in business office or dental or medical practice. Membership in Georgia Association of Medical Staff Services (GAMSS) and/or National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS).Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: The incumbent of this position is responsible for development, managing and monitoring processes and procedures that support the credentialing, re-credentialing and other practitioner information processes, including primarily source verification and compliance with JCAHO standards, state and federal regulations, and internal policies and procedures, for the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (DCG) and AU Surgery Center (AUSC) to meet the requirements of the multiple third-party carriers. Ensures that all expirables are reviewed, obtained and managed on a regular basis according to the rules and policies for more than 75 providers. Acts as a key liaison and point person responsible for the gathering, verification and evaluation of confidential healthcare provider credentials, as well as contacting and following up with third-party carriers regarding applications. Maintains database of licensure, certification and insurance certificates, DEA certificates, CPR certificates and other supporting credentialing requirements. Obtain provider background reports from various websites, including the Office of Inspector General, the National Practitioner Data Bank and the Georgia Board of Dentistry.
