Under the direction of the Director of Imaging and Clinical Service perform all duties related to patient handling and restraint during patient treatments and clinical procedures, emergencies and standing surgeries. Assist in the operation of the high-speed treadmill; help prepare horse for treadmill exams which may include harnessing, catheter placement, applying proper exercise equipment. Assist with endoscopy examinations and dynamic endoscopy examinations. Jog horses in hand, lunge horses and assist with neurological exams. Assist with restraining animals for imaging exams to include holding horses in Robotic CT, Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. Assist with teaching both veterinary and nursing students.
Clinical Sports Med. Tech A- High School Diploma/GED required with a minimum of 1 year of experience working with horses in a professional setting (i.e. racetrack, large animal clinic, showing in sanctioned equine events), 5 years of experience is preferred; accomplished and comfortable with horses and their behavior. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively required. Must be able to communicate both orally and written. Must be able to work well with others. Computer skills required. Weekends and holidays are required.
Clinical Sports Medicine Tech B- High School degree required with a minimum of 2-year experience working with horses in a professional setting (i.e.: racetrack, Lg. Animal Clinic, showing in sanctioned equine events), 7 years preferred; accomplished and comfortable with horses and their behavior. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively required. Must be able to communicate both orally and written. Must be able to work well with others. Computer skills required. Weekends and holidays are required.
