    Position Description:

    Undersupervision of Radiology Manager, responsible for assembly and maintenance ofpatients’ radiology records.  Responsiblefor screening patient requisitions.  Schedule radiologic exams in proper sequence and explains prep proceduresto patients.  Register and update allpatients seen in Radiology in the hospital information system and radiologyinformation system. (HIS/RIS).

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Successful completion of an anatomy and/or medical terminology course.
    3. Two years’ experience in patient care environment. 
    4. Previous radiology experience preferred. 
    5. Additional requirements include keyboard and typing skills (20 wpm), and working experience or training with computer.
    6. Competence with radiology information systems and PACS preferred 
    7. Other attributes would be good organizational skills, self-confidence, flexibility in scheduling, multi-tasking, tactful and able to withstand stress/pressure.
    8. Effectively responds to customer service needs.
    9. Demonstrates effective age and culturally appropriate interaction with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
    10. Adheres to UTMC Customer Service values and iCare Standards.
    11. Seeks out ways to assist patients and co-workers.
    12. Actively participates in performance improvement activities as related to job duties.

    Physical requirements:

    • Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable.
    • Ability to hear (with or without aides).
    • Ability to orally communicate
    • Good manual dexterity.
    • Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Ability to stand, walk frequently.
    • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and kneel frequently

    Working Conditions:Must be able to work flexible hours, shifts, holidays and weekends. Tolerate office environment that requires constant interaction with patients, employees, students, residents and physicians. Requires the ability to operate various types of office equipment, including, but not limited to: personal computer, fax machine, copier and telephone. Must be able to work effectively both with internal and external customers in stressful situations.
