Part-time Adjunct Faculty
Sugar Grove Campus
Waubonsee Community College is seeking qualified candidates for an Adjunct Instructor (part-time) in our Welding Technology program. The subject areas and courses include Survey of Welding, Oxy-Fuel and Shielded Metal Arc Welding.
This assignment will begin in the Fall semester.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for providing instruction and formatively and summatively assessing student learning. This position requires a professional with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Business, Technology, and Workforce Education, Adjunct Faculty prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to engage students with diverse learning styles and empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities for them to meet all course objectives and outcomes. They also incorporate learning centered principles and concepts to motivate student to actively participate in all aspects of their educational experiences. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for student evaluation as well as timely and accurate reporting including, but not limited to, attendance verifications, academic progress, and final course grades.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Industrial Technology or related field and industry certification(s) and 4000 hours of work related experience in the field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using an LMS system like Canvas is preferred.
