Description of Work:

Perform pre-award functions for the School of Education and train existing research administration staff on how to perform pre-award functions. Responsibilities include budget development, developing current and pending documents, working with faculty on biosketch documents, as well as preparation of other agency or University required forms and documents in compliance with respective guidelines. Work directly with other research administration staff that do not have in depth pre-award experience to teach and train them on the pre-award process, rules, requirements, and systems, as well as walk each through proposals so they can gain first hand experience.

This position will work closely with the School’s Research Coordinator who is the primary lead for pre-award functions for the School.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires knowledge and understanding of federal guidance for research administration and proposal development.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Requires experience with pre-award functions and system at UNC-Chapel Hill, including routing proposals in RAMSES.
