Our focus is on equity and access for all students in order to achieve the University of California's goal of academic excellence. Housed in CFEP, the Irvine Math Project (IMP) designs common core curriculum, conducts in classroom demonstration lessons, and creates and leads professional development programs for K-12 teachers of mathematics in various local school districts. As a California Subject Matter Project site, IMP joins classroom practitioners, UCI math faculty and UCI School of Education Faculty to prepare teachers to guide their students to understand and enjoy mathematics. Uses advanced technical expertise, accredited and/or certification public educational program concepts and organizational objectives to create and lead professional development (PD) to fulfill fee-for-service contracts with districts in the following counties: San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino. Use advanced knowledge of mathematics education and district policies to conduct needs assessments and design programs and policies to increase the effectiveness of K-12 math educators and thus the learning of their students. Exercise's judgment in selecting methods and techniques for delivering courses, presentations, and development of programs. Exercise's judgment in selecting methods and techniques for course and instructional improvement. Fully knowledgeable in course subject matter and program. Serves as "lead" accredited and / or certification public educational program specialist and subject matter expert to develop public educational program personnel. Compensation Range: Annually: $55,700.00 - $107,900.00 Department Website: https://www.cfep.uci.edu/ Required: Minimum of five years of secondary mathematics teaching experience, preferably in high need schools of districts.Master's Degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.Continuing education in related field required.Single-subject teaching credential in mathematics.Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).Advanced knowledge of accredited and/or certificate program instruction and delivery methodologies, the organization, market and business strategies.Advanced analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas of public educational programs.Experience designing and leading professional development.Working knowledge of school districts and how they function as well as how policies and decisions are made, especially as it comes to mathematics curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
