Assistant Director, Regional Enrollment

The University of Toledo is seeking an Assistant Director of Regional Enrollment. The Assistant Director of Regional Enrollment serves as the primary strategist and staff supervisor for UToledo’s regional recruitment initiatives. They will supervise a team of Regional Enrollment Managers and manage their own recruitment territory. They drive enrollment by providing admission and financial aid counseling, as well as course advising, to traditional and non-traditional (both international and domestic) students transitioning to The University of Toledo. This position provides students with accurate and timely information about the admission and enrollment processes, institutional policies, academic programs, and support resources; assist students in selecting majors and planning educational strategies that are consistent with their interests, abilities, and goals; and build/maintain effective relationships with key personnel and prospective students. Academic advising, admissions counseling, promotion of the University, and building external relationships are all significant functions of this position. This position will work autonomously to develop relationships with key partners and manage the enrollment of new students. This position will manage one or more recruitment officers. This position will serve on the Admissions Leadership Team and serve as the primary advocate, trainer, supervisor, and strategist for the Regional Enrollment team. They will contribute to the regional strategic planning efforts including messaging to prospective students and other influencers and will perform special duties as assigned. This position may be located outside of Northwest Ohio.   


  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the area of Sales, Marketing, Communication, or related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years experience in college admissions or recruiting required.
  • Strong cross-cultural and interpersonal communication, writing, and public speaking skills are necessary.   
  • Ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations through strong, student-centered enrollment strategies. 
  • Person must demonstrate commitment to being student- and consumer-centered, with a willingness to help them achieve their educational goals. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
  • This position requires the ability to travel to remote locations and to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.
  • Regular evening and weekend hours required. 
  • Development and implementation of strategic plans relating to higher education and enrollment initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with and use of strategic data analysis tools such as ACT AIM, ACT EIS, College Board EPS, etc. is preferred.
  • Understanding and workings of Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience in supervision.
  • Minimum one year of work experience at a community college.
  • Previous experience working directly with transfer and adult learners. 
  • Basic familiarity with e-mail systems, Transferology®, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software tools.
