Job Description Summary:

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plan, organize, direct, and implement all phases of a highly competitive Division I Men’s Cross Country/Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate all recruiting, practice sessions, training, and conditioning for the program’s student-athletes. Oversee scheduling, travel, and equipment.

Support the University’s academic goals. Oversee the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes.

Supervise and evaluate the program’s staff.

Develop and oversee the program’s budget.

Adhere to all NCAA, University, and Atlantic 10 Conference rules and regulations.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct fund-raising activities and participate in public relations events.

Perform other duties as required.

LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

NCAA Rules Certification. Web-based recruiting/compliance software.

Required Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

1.Bachelor’s degree.

2.Minimum five years of collegiate cross country and/or track and field coaching experience.

3.Demonstrated experience in recruiting collegiate cross country and/or track and field student athletes.

4.Demonstrated experience supporting student athlete’s academic progress and achievements.

5.Demonstrated leadership skills.

6.Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills.

7.Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

8.Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

9.Demonstrated experience in fund-raising.

10.Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

11.Demonstrated ability to adhere to University, NCAA, and Atlantic 10 Conference rules and regulations.

12. Appointment is subject to NCAA violation clearance and NCAA Rules Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

PREFERRED:

1.Master’s degree.

2.Demonstrated Division I collegiate cross country and/or track and field coaching and recruiting experience.

3.Demonstrated coaching education certifications or equivalent (i.e. USATF Level 1, 2, or USTFCCCA Academy).
