Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information
The Department of Social Work and Human Services iscomprisedof diverse facultyrepresentinga broad range of robust qualitative and quantitative scholarship and a strong record of community engagement and professional service. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Human Services as well as the graduate Master of Social Work. Both are accredited programsby (Council for Standards in Human Services and Council on Social Work Education, respectively.) Additionally, the Department offers certificates and minors in Nonprofit Management and Social Innovation and Child Advocacy Studies.

The Wellstar College of Health and Human Services is a dynamic and diverse college composed of four academic units:theDepartment of Social Work and Human Services, the Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management, the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education and theWellstarSchool of Nursing. The College also houses the Academy for Inclusive Learning and Social Growth and the Continuing Education Division. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Social Work and Human Services to teach in the Human Services major, Child Advocacy Studies minor and embedded certificate program and/or the Nonprofit Management and Social Innovation minor and certificate program beginning January 1, 2022. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
The chosen candidate(s) will be teaching Human Services, Nonprofit Management, and/or Child Advocacy Studies courses at the undergraduate level.

Required Qualifications
An earned Master's or Doctorate in Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Children and Youth Studies, or related field, or the foreign equivalent and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community,
  • demonstrated understanding (i.e., professional experience and theoretical knowledge) of the field of Human Services
  • prior teaching at the university/college level,
  • professional work experience in human services and/or nonprofit management,
  • the ability to teach one or more of the following courses: Research Methods; Aging and the Family; Dynamics of Family Violence; Death, Dying and Bereavement; Child Maltreatment; Child Advocacy; Nonprofit Management; or Human Services Field Experience Instruction.
  • experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
