Position Description 

This part-time position will coordinate research studies related to child abuse recognition for a specific emergency physician.  Prominent studies will include coordinating data collection and transfer for a study of cytotoxic edema; coordinating data collection and nodal activities for a multi-center study of child physical abuse.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly investigator meetings for the CAPNET network
  • Take notes and follow-up on tasks
  • Update local REDCap database to ensure consistency
  • Supervise data transfer to the Data Coordinating Center
  • Monitor research progress for multiple studies and ensure timelines are met 
  • Salary and Benefits

    $20/hour-5 hours/week

    The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • At least two years prior experience in research setting OR at least one year prior experience in research setting and Master’s degree in related field
    Applicants must meet minimul qualifications at the time of hire

    Desired Qualifications

    • Fluency in the clinical vocabulary of child abuse pediatrics and brain injury
    • Experience in using computer-based tools (Microsoft suite)
    • Fluency with REDCap programming and usage
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including over the phone
    • Highly detail-oriented and organized in handling multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Self-motivated and eager to learn
    • Experience working with a team of professionals
    • Experience working independently with indirect supervision
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based applications
    • Capable of working remotely (if needed, due to the pandemic)
