Responsibilities

This position serves as the administrative support and receptionist for the Advising First Central Office, handling all questions and/or directing inquiries to the appropriate staff and assisting with walk-in traffic for advisors. This position is also responsible for maintaining calendars for the Director and Assistant Directors, and preparing and distributing correspondence, reports, meeting notes, and forms. May assist with supervision of work study staff and facilitating departmental operations including processing purchasing and travel, as well as preparing numerous reports.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalency and two years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.

Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.

Ability to interpret and apply University policy and procedures.

Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources.

Knowledge of basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.

Preferred

Applicants with prior University experience are preferred.
