As the largest self-supported food service department in North Texas, UNT Dining Services offers 5 Dining Halls, 20+ retail venues, an upscale dining restaurant, hydroponic garden, central scratch bakery and catering service—all led by professionally-trained chefs and hospitality experts. UNT operates Mean Greens Café, the nation’s first 100% vegan collegiate Dining Hall, and also Kitchen West, Texas’ first and only university Dining Hall Certified Free From™ the Big 8 Food Allergens and Gluten by Kitchens with Confidence. In early 2021, UNT opened its first standalone Dining Hall, Eagle Landing, inspired by urban food halls and home to seven unique restaurant concepts, all available for a single Meal Plan swipe. Position Overview:

Provides high quality support services to cafeteria managers, Operation Director and the Executive Director of Dining Services. Performs routine duties and services as needed in the following areas: all facets of New Positions, On-Boarding and Off Boarding. Also is responsible for monitoring 100% compliance with Max Student 25 Hour work weeks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
• Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex
nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
• Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
• Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
• Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned
• Supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
*Bilingual – English/Spanish * Experience with EIS & UNT Hiring Process and Procedures (Handshake, Canvas, and HR Employment interface). * Excellent Customer Service & Outgoing Personality. * Detail Oriented & Strong Organizational Skills.

Work Schedule:

8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.

Physical Requirements:

Positions are opened and closed within two days of notification of vacancy or annually as needed, with exceptions only due to HR delays in processing documents.


Paperwork to be completed within the week the changes occur. (no more than 2 incidents of failure).


Actively follows up with payroll and managers to ensure employees are activated in system as quickly as HR processes are completed.


University policy and form changes and/or updates are communicated to employees as outlined by HR.


Completes Hourly Terminations and Removal per semester and update student files.


Insures compliance is meet with all DS Employee’s that require this training prior to working in a kitchen.


Must communicate all hiring and terminating with staff as needed.


Maintains communication with HR/Employment/Talen Acquisition/International Office (for student employees)/Tax Department/Budgets and forwards all updates to department/manager as applicable to HR/University rules. (Manager should maintain contact with employee).


Communicated with all managers when employees for their locations are ready work.


Schedule, maintain and attend all Dining Services job fairs (Summer, Fall and Spring).


Willingly and cheerfully assists in other assignments as necessary.


Demonstrates positive attitude toward job and co-workers and maintains a high level of confidentiality.


Demonstrates loyalty to job and department presents a positive image and works well with all managers for the good of the department.


Calls in a timely manner when absent due to illness. No more then 2 exceptions per semester. Does not establish a pattern of absenteeism as noted in policy handbook.


Must adhere to the 8 hour work day with 1 hour lunch break. Your break starts at the time you exit your office.


Demonstrates professionalism in handling employee issues and conflicts and effectively resolves them internally. Deals with potential problems in public relations as needed.
