Department Summary:

The mission of the Division of Student & Academic Affairs is to create solutions for a healthier community by fostering student success. There are 12 functional units within the Division of Student & Academic Affairs: Office of Student Development, Career Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Registrar, Financial Aid, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Admissions & Recruitment, Office of University Assessment & Accreditation, Office of Disability Access and Title IX.

Position Overview:

The Admissions & Recruitment Office at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Recruitment/Admissions Associate to join our team. Responsible for assisting the Admissions Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing all phases of the events and communications processes within the admissions & recruitment team. Provides exceptional customer service. Assists the director in several duties related to admissions events and communication procedures, general administration and relevant management, etc. Expectations of the position include but are not limited to the ability to problem-solve and manage processes with little guidance from supervisor. Exceptional organization and communication skills. Significant communication within the UNT Health Science Center and with external audiences. The ability to work cooperatively and meet deadlines. The ability to learn and use information systems, email communication, MS Office products and other office technology platforms related to the position. An understanding of the role of admissions in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings or weekends required for divisional events

Assists with determining programing needs


Designs events to meet the needs of admissions & recruitment stakeholders


Carries out all aspects of events including but not limited to; admissions interviews, Discover myHSC Day and retention activities


Acts as host and presenter while conducting in-person and virtual events


Evaluates impact of programing


Responds to inquiries or requests from internal and external event participants


Organizes campus tour system


Develops messaging and communicates with admitted students through a variety of methods


Maintains computerized records of event logistics (participant lists, RSVPs, schedules, agendas, room reservations, supply orders, etc.) and produces timely reports using database information


Assists in the overall operations of the events and communications team


Other duties as assigned


Provides outstanding customer service
