Maintenance SupervisorJob Description:
Manage and coordinate activities of Preventive Maintenance personnel, consisting of trade staff engaged in the preventive maintenance of Health Science Center, Main Campus, and Veterinary Medicine Buildings.Ensure proper safety procedures and policies are followed. Develops schedules to maximize time efficiency, determines PM work order priorities, assign work appropriately, and monitor performances. Inspect on-going work and assist employees as needed. Works closely with PM/Asset Manager to standardize Checkpoint measurements. Establish a culture that promotes buy-in and finding a way to accomplish task and goals that works across departments.
Guide, train, and give technical assistance to employees engaged in preventive maintenance tasks, safety, regulatory issues, and proper maintenance/operations practices. Inspect completed assignments to ensure that satisfactory work quality, efficiency, progress, methods and practices, safety, and other established standards and requirements are satisfactorily met. Create performance baselines by using analytics to set attainable goals. Assist in preparing operational budget recommendations and monitor expenditures.
Provide an employee support system for improved production and efficiencies. Conducts quarterly performance reviews and provides performance feedback to employees regarding the results of performance and equipment inspections. Perform employee interviews and select new hires. Make recommendations to the Assistant Director. Regularly communicate with Assistant Director to ensure the team is meeting the needs and expectations set forth and completing work in a timely and professional manner.
Utilize the department’s computerized work management system (AiM) and pertinent management reports to evaluate and improve preventative maintenance and operational performance. Assigns Work Orders in AiM and charges time as needed. Check and approve time for employees on Kronos. Uses computer to requisition supplies and materials, review/renew preventive maintenance contracts, communicate with employees, customers.
Position is considered Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.A criminal background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.Expected Salary:
$58,000 - $63,000 Yearly based on experience.Minimum Requirements:
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in a recognized trade and relevant experience to total five years; or a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades, or a high school diploma and four (4) years of appropriate experience.
Working knowledge of computers and asset management systems.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades, mechanical, and repair work, safetyprocedures and requirements in maintenance and repair work.
Skilled in hand tools and equipment.
Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions, read blueprints and schematic drawings, follow verbal and written instruction, ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
